These terms govern your use of Deep End (known as 철크크 in Korean and 哲チャ in Japanese; the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to them.
Deep End is a conversational entertainment service. Nine historical philosophers are portrayed as chat companions, and their replies are generated by artificial intelligence. The replies are not the views of the actual historical figures, and they are not counselling, therapy, or medical, legal or financial advice. If you are going through a genuinely difficult time, please seek help from a qualified professional.
You must be at least 14 years old to use the Service. If the law where you live sets a higher age for consenting to online services, that age applies to you instead.
You may use the Service without an account. If you choose to sign in with a Google account, your records are stored and synchronised so that they carry over between devices. You are responsible for keeping access to your own Google account secure.
Allowances, prices and features may change. We will announce material changes in the app before they take effect.
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service enquiries and handles returns.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price, using your saved payment method, until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from Settings in the app, which opens the billing portal. Cancelling stops future renewals; access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for.

We may suspend access that seriously or repeatedly breaks these rules.
Replies are generated automatically and may be inaccurate, inappropriate, or not in keeping with the character portrayed. You can report any reply from the menu inside a conversation, or from Settings. We read what is reported and use it to improve the Service.
What you write stays yours. You grant us only the permission needed to operate the Service — to store your entries, sync them to your account, and send them to our AI provider so that a reply can be generated. See the Privacy Policy for details.
The Service is provided as it is. We do not promise it will always be available or error-free, and it depends on third-party providers that may themselves be interrupted. We may change or discontinue features. If we discontinue the Service entirely, we will give notice in the app and stop charging subscriptions.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the Service. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced in the app. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Nothing here removes consumer protections you have under the law of the country where you live.
