This policy explains how Deep End (known as 철크크 in Korean and 哲チャ in Japanese; the “Service”) handles your information.

If you use the Service without signing in, no account is created. Your conversations, chosen philosophers, nicknames, diary entries and letters are stored only in your device's browser storage (localStorage), and are deleted when you clear your browser data or remove the app. Note that the transmission described in section 2 happens whether or not you sign in.
To generate a philosopher's reply, the messages you type are sent to Google's Gemini API for processing. We do not read or separately store your conversations in this process. However, under the terms of the free API tier, Google may use transmitted content to improve its services and train its models. For this reason, please do not enter sensitive personal information such as your legal name, contact details, government identification numbers or financial information into conversations. See the Google Gemini API Terms of Service for details.
If you choose to sign in with a Google account, the records previously kept on your device are stored and synchronised in our database (Supabase) so that your history carries over when you change devices or reinstall the app. The following is stored:
Signing in is optional. The Service works without it.
If you allow notifications, the browser push subscription needed to deliver them (endpoint, keys, language and time zone) is stored. You can turn notifications off at any time in your browser or device settings.
Subscription payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy. Payment details such as card numbers are handled by Lemon Squeezy; we neither collect nor retain them. We receive and store only whether a payment succeeded and your subscription status.
We use the following providers to operate the Service. Their servers may be located outside your country.
Stored information is kept until you delete it or ask us to. Choosing “Delete all data” in the app's settings removes both the records on your device and those on our server. Deleted records cannot be recovered. For any other request to access, correct or delete your information, please contact us at the address below.
Deep End is a conversational entertainment service that borrows from philosophical thought. It does not provide counselling or treatment. Replies are generated by AI, are not the views of the actual philosophers, and must not be relied upon as medical, legal or financial advice. If you are going through a genuinely difficult time, please seek help from a qualified professional.
